Following the Success of Last Year's Festival of Women and Girls in Science 2024, we are excited to announce the return of the Festival of Women and Girls in Science to Tūranga Library on Saturday, February 15th, 2025. Last year's festival drew over 260 visitors who engaged with women scientists through interactive exhibits exploring everything from space exploration to marine biology.
Building on this success, this year's festival promises another day of discovery and inspiration. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet women scientists, participate in hands-on experiments, and explore diverse scientific fields through engaging demonstrations. From peering into the cosmos in our planetarium to examining fossils from New Zealand's past, there's something to capture every young scientist's imagination.
The festival celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, championing our vision of a future where women and girls are equally represented in scientific fields. Through interactive experiences led by women scientists, we aim to inspire the next generation of researchers, innovators, and explorers.
